In Pics: Grand Ram Temple Consecration Ceremony Preparations in Full Swing

Ayodhya, the revered birthplace of Lord Rama, is abuzz with preparations for the highly anticipated ‘Pran Pratishtha’ (consecration ceremony) scheduled for January 22, 2024. The Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Tirath Kshetra Trust recently shared the latest images showcasing the ongoing construction of the Ram Lala Temple.

  • Prime Minister’s Presence:
    – Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to grace the installation of the grand temple’s idol, drawing dignitaries and individuals from diverse backgrounds.
  • Rituals and Ceremonies:
    – Vedic rituals heralding the Pran-Pratishtha ceremony of infant Lord Ram, Ram Lalla, will commence on January 16, a week before the main ceremony.
    – The consecration ceremony will be led by Varanasi priest Lakshmi Kant Dixit on January 22, coinciding with the Amrit Mahautsav observed from January 14 to 22.

  • Tent City and Facilities:
    – A Tent City, equipped with six tubewells, kitchen houses, and a ten-bed hospital, has been set up in Teerthakshetrapuram (Bag Bijaisi).
    – Approximately 150 doctors from across the country have pledged their services for rotations at the hospital.
  • Distinguished Guests:
    – Invitations have been extended to distinguished saints, spiritual leaders, and individuals contributing significantly to the nation’s honor.
    – Around 4,000 saints from diverse sects, including Shankaracharyas and Mahamandaleshwars, have been invited.

    – Three skilled sculptors—Ganesh Bhatt, Arun Yogiraj, and Satyanarayan Pandey—are crafting the idols of Rama Lala, depicting the innocence of a five-year-old child.

    – Notable personalities from various spheres, including media, sports, agriculture, and the art world, have received invitations.
    – Special invitations have been dispatched to veteran journalists active between 1984 and 1992, along with the families of Karsewaks involved in the temple’s construction.
  • Ceremonial Cycle:
    – Rituals for the consecration ceremony will start on January 16, led by Ganeshwar Shastri Dravid Ji and Lakshmikant Dikshit Ji.
    – A 48-day cycle of mandala puja, guided by revered figure Vishwaprasann Teerth Ji, will follow the consecration.
  • Security Measures:
    – Authorities are actively preparing for an influx of visitors, enhancing security measures, and ensuring logistical setups for a seamless and spiritually fulfilling experience.
  • International Contributions:
    – Nepal plans to present special souvenirs, including various jewellery, utensils, garments, and sweets, for the inauguration ceremony of the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya.
