12-Year-Old Girl Gang-Raped By 3 In MP’s Jabalpur

Jabalpur: A 12-year-old girl was allegedly gang-raped by three youths under the Chargawan police station limits in the Jabalpur district of Madhya Pradesh, a police officer informed on Monday.

The incident occurred on Sunday at around 6 PM, and all the accused in the case were taken into custody.

The accused were identified as Pancham (age 22), Brijesh (age 22), and Bali Thakur (23). Priyanka Shukla, City Superintendent of Police (CSP), stated, “one of the accused, Pancham Thakur, who had known the young girl for about a month, met with her near a canal inside the boundaries of the Chargawan police station around 6 PM on Sunday. He took her on his bike by luring her to drop her at her maternal aunt’s residence in the city.”

“Two other accused, Brijesh and Bali, were present during this. The accused pulled over the motorcycle on the highway and took the young girl into the woods, where Pancham and Brijesh assaulted her and Bali assisted them in carrying out the crime” she furthered.

“The girl then went to the Chargawan police station in the early hours of Monday at 3 am with her parents to file a complaint against the accused. In response to the complaint, the police filed a case under section 376 (Rape) of the IPC and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses (POCSO) Act against each of the three accused. All of the offenders were arrested by the police, and additional investigation is ongoing” Shukla added.
