AI Used for Foolproof Security in Ayodhya for Ram Temple Consecration

New Delhi: The use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) has enhanced the security levels in Ayodhya ahead of the grand opening ceremony of the Ram Temple on January 22.

Apart from 12,000 personnel of the Uttar Pradesh police, AI is being used to monitor threats. According to NDTV, the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has sent a high-level cyber expert team to Ayodhya to deal with cyber threats before the Pran Pratistha event.

Using AI these experts are keeping watch on inputs regarding misuse of cyberspace and alerts are being issued accordingly. At integrated control rooms possible threats are being monitored by various agencies on a real-time basis.

In Ayodhya, security agencies are using AI for the first time to identify suspicious activities and track down miscreants. The AI-based CCTV surveillance system will help in detecting frequent visitors or any common trend followed by a group of people while visiting the temple premises.

Around 10,000 CCTV cameras in and around Ayodhya city including about 400 in the vicinity of the shrine and in the yellow zone, are monitoring the activities round the clock.

AI facial recognition is being used in the yellow zone, said Prashant Kumar, Director General, of Law and Order of Uttar Pradesh police to NDTV.

Uttar Pradesh’s criminal database is being uploaded on the portals to assist AI in identifying and matching criminals.
