Bhubaneswar: Meta recently announced the expansion of its verified services to India on June 7th. This move allows Facebook and Instagram users in the country to obtain verified badges for their accounts.

With the introduction of Meta Verified, users have the option to purchase a subscription-based service that provides them with a blue tick verification badge and access to additional features.

The monthly rates for Meta Verified on iOS and Android apps for Facebook and Instagram are set at Rs. 699. Additionally, Meta has plans to introduce a web-based subscription plan in the coming months, priced at Rs. 599 per month.

Meta Verified simplifies the verification process by allowing users to provide a government ID for authentication. By availing this service, verified users gain proactive account protection and enjoy direct account support, among other benefits.

To get verified on Instagram and Facebook in India, follow these steps:
1. Open the Instagram or Facebook app on your Android or iOS device.
2. Navigate to the profile that you wish to get verified.
3. Access Settings > Accounts Center.
4. Choose the Meta Verified option. (If it’s not immediately visible, consider updating your apps)
5. Select your preferred payment method.
6. Follow the instructions to authenticate yourself using a government ID.
7. After successful authentication, a verified badge will be granted to your account.

There are certain requirements to fulfill in order to obtain Meta Verified in India. Applicants must be 18 years of age or older. The company may also verify the user’s prior posting history. Additionally, it is essential to possess an official government ID that matches the name and photo on the Instagram or Facebook account.

Public figures, celebrities, content creators, and brands have the opportunity to apply for the verified badge by meeting specific account and eligibility requirements.

At present, Meta Verified is available in select countries, including the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Australia, New Zealand, and India.
