Judicial Officer’s Sexually Explicit Video; Delhi HC Restrains Social Sites From Circulating it

New Delhi: The Delhi High Court has ordered social media companies to stop disseminating a pornographic video that allegedly shows a judge and an official.

Justice Yashwant Varma issued an injunction late on Wednesday stating that the clip is explicit and that the privacy rights of the people it allegedly depicts are likely to suffer immediate, severe, and irreparable damages.

The decision was made as the court heard a lawsuit filed by the woman who is allegedly in the video that has gone viral on social media.

The court ordered that it ” shall take all permissible steps to ensure that the further sharing, distribution, forwarding or posting of the offending video is restrained forthwith.”

On November 29, the high court took notice of the video, and the registrar general also requested that it be blocked, according to Justice Varma.

An ad interim ex-parte order is unquestionably necessary, according to Justice Varma, given the sexually explicit nature of the contents of that video and taking into account the imminent, grave, and irreparable injury that is likely to be caused to the plaintiff’s privacy rights.

Apparently, this is not the first occasion that a sexually explicit video of an official connected to the judicial hemisphere has gone viral. Earlier, in 2012, a similar sexually explicit video allegedly featuring Congress leader Abhishek Manu Singhvi and a lawyer had gone viral on social media platforms.
