Archana Nag Case: Court Rejects Hubby Jagabandhu’s Bail Plea

Bhubaneswar: The ADJ-2 court on Thursday rejected the bail plea of Archana Nag’s husband Jagabandhu Chand. A day ago the JMFC-3 court of Bhubaneswar rejected the bail petition of lady blackmailer Archana Nag.

The court rejected Jagabandhu’s plea in connection with the honey trap case involving Archana’s close aide Sradhanjali.

Meanwhile, Archana Nag has moved to District Sessions Judge court after the Bhubaneswar JMFC-3 court rejects her bail plea.

Archana Nag was arrested by the Commissionerate Police on October 6 on charges of sextortion and honey trapping. Her husband, Jagabandhu Chand was also arrested on October 22 from his house in Bhubaneswar.

The couple allegedly has gathered assets worth Rs 30 crore by blackmailing high-profile influential people. The case is currently being probed by the Enforcement Directorate (ED).

Veteran Odia film producer, Akshaya Parija, the brother of BJD MLA Sudhir Kumar Samal, Amiyakant Das, Shradhanjali Behera, and Chandan, Archana’s driver, has already testified before the ED in connection with the case.

More than 20 leaders from the ruling BJD and the opposition BJP, as well as some well-known businessmen, movie producers, and real estate moguls, were allegedly victims of Archana Nag’s honeytrap. She allegedly hired call girls to appease wealthy clients.
