Mayawati Alleges Misuse of Official Machinery by BJP in UP Civic Elections

Lucknow: Bahujan Samaj Party President Mayawati has accused the ruling party of rigging the Uttar Pradesh civic polls and misusing official machinery to secure a landslide victory. Mayawati expressed her gratitude to those who voted for the BSP despite adverse circumstances and promised to hold the BJP accountable for their alleged wrongdoing.

In a series of tweets on Sunday, Mayawati stated that the BSP would not remain silent in the face of the BJP’s misuse of government machinery during the UP civic elections. She thanked the people for trusting the BSP and voting for party candidates despite the obstacles.

Mayawati claimed that if the election had been free and fair, the results would have been different. She further alleged that the BSP would have won the mayoral election had ballot papers been used instead of electronic voting.

In addition, Mayawati criticized both the BJP and the Samajwadi Party for winning elections through power abuse and rigging. She stated that both parties employ similar tactics to secure seats, and that the ruling party won most of the seats through rigging.
