Nandankanan Zoo To Remain Open On Christmas & New Year Mondays

Bhubaneswar: The Nandankanan Zoological Park has announced that it will be open on both Christmas and New Year’s Day, which fall on Mondays.

Typically closed for tourists on Mondays, the Nandankanan authority recognizes the potential high demand during these festive occasions and has decided to make an exception. So, mark your calendars for December 25, 2023, and January 1, 2024, as the Nandankanan Zoological Park will welcome visitors on these special Mondays.

To accommodate this change, the zoo will be closed to tourists on the following Tuesdays, i.e. on December 26 and January 2.

In addition to this exciting news, the Nandankanan Zoological Park has welcomed four new members to its family. A pair of wallabies and a pair of Livingstone’s turacos, including two small-sized kangaroos, have been brought from Hyderabad under an animal acquisition scheme. After a brief quarantine period, these fascinating species will be ready for public viewing on December 28, just in time for the Nandankanan Foundation Day.
