James Cameron has been an admirer of RRR for a long time now and he once again proved it when he spoke about the film in a recent interview. In an interview with Speak Easy, he said, “And the journey that you go on, especially understanding the Ram character for two-thirds of the movie was very challenging. And then you finally understand what’s going on in his head, and it’s heartbreaking. I just think it’s a triumph. And I told Mr Rajamouli this in person recently. But we didn’t really get much time to talk. It was crowded. I’d love to talk to him more.”

He further added that he hails from Canada and could understand how an Indian would feel after watching the film. “With all of that, the history in it, the film must be powerful for the audiences,” he concluded.

SS Rajamouli’s RRR took up the Best Foreign Language Film honours at the Critics’ Choice Awards in Los Angeles on January 16. Composer MM Keeravaani and SS Rajamouli met James Cameron at the ceremony.
