10 Sai Bhakts Dead, Several Injured As Their Bus Meets Accident on Way to Shirdi

Shirdi: Ten persons died and several were injured when a bus collided with a truck in Maharashtra’s Nashik district on Friday morning. The victims were travelling from Ambernath in the Thane district in Maharashtra to Shridi in a private luxury bus.

The deceased included seven women, a man, and two children. The death toll is expected to rise as the condition of several injured was too critical.

According to police sources, this accident took place at around 6.30 am near Pathare Shivar in Nashik’s Sinnar tehsil, around 180 km from Mumbai.

Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde expressed grief over the loss of life in the accident and ordered an inquiry into the accident. He announced financial assistance of Rs 5 lakh each for the family members of those who died.

The Maharashtra government will bear the expenses of the treatment of injured persons.
