Assam Fridge Murder: Woman Hides Body Parts of Murdered Husband & Mother-in-Law in Fridge

Guwahati: A woman of Assam’s Noonmati, murdered her husband and mother-in-law, and chopped up their bodies to store them inside a fridge. The accused named Vandana Kalita is suspected to have resorted to this gruesome act because of her extramarital affair.

According to police sources, the deceased persons were her husband Amarjyoti Dey, and her mother-in-law Shankari Dey. Three days after their murder, Vandana and her lover transported the chopped body parts to Meghalaya’s Cherrapunji, some 150 km from Guwahati, for disposal. Police have recovered the body parts of the deceased from the spot.

After arrest, Vandana confessed her crime and led a police team from Assam to the spot in Cherrapunji in Meghalaya, where she and her lover had scattered the body parts of the two deceased.

Vandana had killed the duo before chopping their bodies into small pieces so that they can be stored inside a fridge, police sources said. This recent Assam murder case resembles the shocking murder of Shraddha Walkar by her live-in partner Aaftab Poonawala in Delhi last year. Shraddha’s body was also chopped off into small pieces and stored in a fridge by Aaftab. Recently a woman named Nikki Yadav was killed by her lover Sahil Gehlot, who stored her corpse inside a fridge at his dhaba in Delhi.
