Berhampur’s Budhi Thakurani Temple to Get Facelift Under 5T

Bhubaneswar: Maa Budhi Thakurani Temple in Berhampur will be developed and transformed under the 5T initiative of the Odisha government. Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik approved the development plan of the temple dedicated to reigning deity of Berhampur.

The Budhi Thakurani Temple development project will be taken up in two phases, at an estimated cost of Rs 18.91 crore.

Budhi Thakurani Temple is revered by devotees of Odisha and Andhra Pradesh. Biennial Budhi Thakurani Jatra attracts thousands to Berhampur.

The renovation of the Budhi Thakurani temple will be done in traditional Kalinga architecture style. The temple complex will have amenities like a Yajna Kund, a temple office building, a boundary wall, a garden, and an attractive entrance. It will also have a hand washing point, a multi-purpose hall for various functions, a room for the servitors, a kitchen, and a Bhoga Mandapa.

The approach road to the temple will be improved with establishment of a parking place, an auditorium, landscaping, and tree planting, all aimed at enhancing public convenience.
