Fugitive Amritpal Singh Suspected to be Hiding in Nepal

New Delhi: It is suspected that fugitive Khalistani leader Amritpal Singh may have fled the country to hide in Nepal. India has requested the Nepal Government not to allow ‘Waris Punjab De’ chief Amritpal Singh, to flee to a third country. The Nepal government was requested to arrest him if he attempts to escape using an Indian passport or any other fake passport.

Indian Embassy in Kathmandu has sent a letter to the Department of Consular Services of Nepal with the request to arrest Amritpal Singh if he tries to flee from Nepal, reported Kathmandu Post newspaper. According to this newspaper, “Singh is currently hiding in Nepal.”

“The esteemed ministry is requested to inform the Department of Immigration not to permit Amritpal Singh to travel through Nepal for any third country and arrest him if he attempts to escape from Nepal using Indian Passport or any other fake passport under intimation to this mission,” the letter of Indian Embassy stated.

Amritpal Singh’s personal details have been circulated to all the agencies concerned, from hotels to airlines in Nepal.

Amritpal Singh is suspected to be having multiple passports with different identities. He is absconding since March 18 when the police launched a crackdown against him.
