Girl Student Alleges Rape by Hotel Manager in Cuttack; One Arrested

Cuttack: A girl student alleged that she was raped in a hotel room in the Madhupatna police station area of Cuttack. Acting on her complaint police arrested one person on Friday. The arrested accused is a hotel staff. The arrested person was identified as teh hotel manager.

Madhupatna police have registered a complaint under sections 376 and 450 of IPC and started an investigation. According to sources, the victim is from outside Odisha. She had booked a room in the said hotel. While she was alone in her room, the hotel staff allegedly intruded into her room and raped her.

Police are investigating if any other persons are involved in this case of sexual harassment. Further details are awaited.
