Heavy Rains to Lash Odisha from July 3, Check IMD Forecast

Bhubaneswar: A fresh spell of heavy rainfall is likely to occur in Odisha on July 3 and 4, predicted India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Friday.

July 3:

According to the Bhubaneswar regional center of the IMD, heavy rainfall is likely at one or two places in Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada, Ganjam, Gajapati, Mayurbhanj, and Keonjhar on July 3.

Yellow warning for thunderstorms with lightning has also been issued for some places in Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapada, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada and Kalahandi on July 3.

Light to moderate rain or thundershower may also occur at many places in coastal Odisha, Kandhamal, Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Dhenkanal, Kalahandi, Nabarangpur and at a few places in the remaining parts of the state.

July 4:

Heavy rainfall is predicted to happen at one or two places in Ganjam, Gajapati, Rayagada, Kandhamal, Kalahandi, Nabarangpur, Malkangiri, Koraput, Bhadrak, Balasore, Jajpur, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar and Dhenkanal on July 4.

Light to moderate rain or thundershower may occur in South Odisha, North Coastal Odisha, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Dhenkanal, and at many places in rest districts of Odisha.

Next 48 Hours:

Many places in South and North Odisha may experience light to moderate rain during the next 48 hours. There is a yellow alert for thunderstorms with lightning at one or two places in Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapada, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Khurda, Puri, Nayagarh and Dhenkanal on July 2.
