Maoist Camp Busted in Odisha’s Nuapada Dist Near Chhattisgarh Border

Bhubaneswar: A secret Maoist camp was busted by security forces at Patdhara near the Chhattisgarh border in Odisha’s Nuapada district.

As per reports, this Maoist camp was unearthed on Thursday. According to sources, Nuapada police received intelligence reports that Naxalites of CPI (Maoist) were camping in large numbers in the Patdhara reserve forest under the Sinapali and Boden blocks of the Nuapada district near the Odisha-Chhattisgarh border.

It was suspected that the ultras were planning for some major violent activity in the area.

Acting as per this information, personnel of the SOG, DVF, and CRPF started a joint operation on June 27. On June 29, they busted the Maoist camp near Jholapada village in Patdhara reserve forest under Sinapali block.

Although the Maoists at the camp managed to escape, yet the security personnel seized ammunition including hand grenade, Maoist literature, Maoist uniforms, radio set, soldering iron, battery, haversack etc from the deserted camp.

Combing operation is continuing in the area to track down the escaped ultras.
