Modi’s Veiled Attack on Pakistan’s Terror Funding

New Delhi: Without naming Pakistan, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that some countries as part of their foreign policy support terrorism. He was addressing an international ministerial conference, ‘No Money for Terror’ in New Delhi on Thursday. This conference has been organized to build up world opinion and unity to counter-terrorism financing.

“Certain countries support terrorism as part of their foreign policy. They offer political, ideological and financial support to them” the Prime Minister said.

According to PM Modi, organisations and individuals who attempt to create “sympathy for terrorists” should be isolated. “There can be no ifs and buts entertained in such matters. The world needs to unite against all kinds of overt and covert backing of terror,” PM Modi said.

Indian PM said one of the sources from which terrorist organizations get money is state support.

Addressing the conference, Home Minister Amit Shah said, the ‘Darknet’ is being used by terrorists to spread radical content and conceal their identities. He also pointed at the use of virtual assets like cryptocurrency by terrorist organizations.
