Nitish Kumar, Tejashwi Yadav Meet Uddhav Thackeray in Mumbai

Mumbai: Bihar CM Nitish Kumar and Deputy-CM Tejashwi Yadav met Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Uddhav Thackeray in Mumbai on Thursday. These leaders held a meeting at Uddhav’s residence.

The JDU supremo and the RJD leader are in Mumbai to meet opposition leaders as a part of their attempt to strengthen the opposition unity ahead of the 2024 Lok Sabha polls.

“Those who are at the Centre are not working for the country…All political parties in the country need to unite to work together,” said Nitish Kumar during his meeting with Uddhav Thackeray in Mumbai.

Nitish Kumar and Tejashwi Yadav will also meet Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) chief Sharad Pawar in the evening.

On Wednesday Nitish Kumar met Jharkhand CM Hemant Soren in Ranchi and was reported to have discussed forming a “united opposition” to defeat the BJP in the 2024 Lok Sabha polls.

The Janata Dal (United) supreme leader Nitish Kumar met his Odisha CM and BJD chief Naveen Patnaik on Tuesday in Bhubaneswar. But both leaders claimed that they did not hold any political discussions.

He has met West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee and Samajwadi Party supremo Akhilesh Yadav. Nitish Kumar met Congress party president Mallikarjun Kharge and senior leader Rahul Gandhi in the past with an aim to unite the opposition ahead of Lok Sabha polls.
