Nitish Kumar to Meet Sharad Pawar, Uddhav Thackeray on “Opposition Unity”

Mumbai: Bihar Chief Minister and JDU supremo Nitish Kumar will meet Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) president Sharad Pawar and Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Uddhav Thackeray in Mumbai on Thursday to strengthen his efforts for opposition unity ahead of the 2024 Lok Sabha polls. Deputy CM of Bihar, Tejashwi Yadav and JDU president Lalan Singh will accompany Nitish Kumar.

After reaching Mumbai, the JDU leaders will visit Uddhav Thackeray’s residence at 12 noon. They will later reach Sharad Pawar’s home.

On Wednesday Nitish Kumar met Jharkhand CM Hemant Soren in Ranchi and was reported to have discussed about forming a “united opposition” to defeat the BJP in the 2024 Lok Sabha polls.

The Janata Dal (United) supreme leader Nitish Kumar met his Odisha CM and BJD chief Naveen Patnaik on Tuesday in Bhubaneswar. But both leaders claimed that they did not hold any political discussions.

He has met West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee and Samajwadi Party supremo Akhilesh Yadav. Nitish Kumar met Congress party president Mallikarjun Kharge and senior leader Rahul Gandhi in the past with an aim to unite the opposition ahead of Lok Sabha polls.
