Odia Judge Appointed as Chief Justice of Jharkhand High Court

Bhubaneswar: Justice Sanjay Kumar Mishra will take over as the Chief Justice of Jharkhand High Court. The Union Ministry of Law and Justice notified the appointment of Justice Sanjay Kumar Mishra as Chief Justice of Jharkhand High Court on Friday.

He is posted at Uttarakhand HC. Justice Sanjay Kumar Mishra hails from the Bolangir district of Odisha. In 2009, he was elevated as a judge of the Orissa High Court. Later, he was transferred to the Uttarakhand High Court.

On December 13, 2022, the Supreme Court Collegium sent the recommendation of Sanjay Kumar Mishra’s name as Jharkhand High Court’s Chief Justice to the Central Government for approval.
