Jajpur Jewellery Loot: 1 Suspect Arrested From Bihar

Bhubaneswar/Patna: In a significant breakthrough, the police have arrested one of the culprits involved in the recent armed robbery of a jewellery showroom in Jajpur. The suspect, identified as Rupesh Kumar from Bihar, has provided valuable leads suggesting the participation of criminals from other states.

Jajpur SP, Vinit Agarwal, stated, “We formed multiple teams and discovered that a total of eight individuals were involved in the incident. We have successfully apprehended one suspect, Rupesh, in the Vaishali area of Bihar. Rupesh was an active participant in the crime and aided the escape of the others.”

Agarwal further revealed that the police have managed to recover three motorcycles utilized during the heist. “Our initial investigation indicates that the robbers are from Bihar, with no evidence of local involvement at this point. We are currently conducting further inquiries into this matter,” Agarwal added.

To recap the incident, a gang of armed robbers targeted a prominent jewellery showroom located in the bustling market area of Vyasanagar town, situated in the Jajpur district of Odisha. During the audacious robbery, the miscreants made off with a significant haul of approximately 10 to 11 kilograms of gold ornaments.
