Massive Fire Engulfs Excise Office in Odisha’s Keonjhar, Valuable Assets Destroyed

Keonjhar: A major fire ripped through the Excise Office near Kiriburu Chhak under Barbil police limits in Keonjhar district, Odisha, in the early hours of Wednesday.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation, according to a senior Excise official.

Locals first noticed thick smoke billowing from the office building late at night. They immediately alerted the fire department in Barbil. The blaze quickly spread, engulfing other parts of the building and destroying valuable assets.

Important documents, seized vehicles, and other contents were reduced to ashes within half an hour. Firefighters battled the flames for over an hour before bringing the blaze under control.

The extent of the damage is yet to be determined.

Meanwhile, Barbil police have launched an investigation into the incident.
