Mayurbhanj JE Caught Red-Handed While Accepting ₹65K Bribe

Mayurbhanj: The Odisha Vigilance on Monday apprehended a Junior Engineer (JE) from the Badasahi Block in the Mayurbhanj district for demanding and accepting Rs 65,000 bribe from a contractor.

The accused has been identified as Ashis Kumar  Ghadei, appointed as JE at Badasahi Block of the district.

Vigilance reportedly received a tip-off from the contractor regarding the alleged bride demand from the accused JE and accordingly laid a trap to catch him in the act.

According to a statement from the Odisha Vigilance, Ghadei was arrested while accepting Rs 65,000 in bribe in exchange for enabling the discharge of a pending bill for the said contractor.

The entire tainted bribe money was located and seized from Ghadei’s possession.

Balasore Vigilance have registered a complaint in this connection and further investigation is underway.
