Villagers Suspect Human Sacrifice as Missing Minor’s Mutilated Body Found Hanging in Odisha Forest

Angul: The mutilated body of a 14-year-old boy, who had been missing since July 23, was discovered today hanging from a tree in Barini forest in Odisha’s Angul district. The villagers suspect the possibility of human sacrifice being involved in the boy’s tragic death.

Reports reveal that the boy had been suffering from health complications in the days leading up to his disappearance. Seeking divine intervention, his mother had taken him to the Goddess Mangala temple at Tusar village in Angul on July 22 to perform rituals for his wellbeing. After completing the rituals, they stayed overnight at the temple premises. However, the next morning, the boy was nowhere to be found, prompting his mother to file a missing complaint with Kiakata police.

This morning, the devastating discovery of the boy’s mutilated body left the community in shock. Both his hands and limbs had been severed, leading to suspicions of a potential human sacrifice.

Enraged by the heinous act, villagers took to the streets and blocked the Athmallik-Kiakata road, demanding swift and exemplary punishment for those responsible for the crime. They also called for adequate compensation to be provided to the victim’s grieving family.

Authorities are now conducting a thorough investigation into the incident, aiming to bring the culprits to justice and provide some closure to the devastated family and community.
