Vedanta, Ethanol & Steel: Odisha Govt Approves 8 Projects Worth ₹1250 Crore

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government has granted approval for eight industrial projects worth a total investment of Rs 1250 crore. These projects are expected to generate significant employment opportunities, benefiting 3640 individuals.

Among the approved projects is Vedanta Limited’s proposal to establish a state-of-the-art 4.5 million ton per annum (mtpa) iron ore beneficiation plant in Koida, Sundergarh district. This project alone accounts for an investment of Rs 80 crore.

Additionally, the state government has given the green signal to three investment proposals for the production of grain-based ethanol. These projects, with a combined investment of approximately Rs. 810 crore, will be set up in Sonepur, Bolangir, and Nabarangpur districts.

In the steel downstream sector, a renowned manufacturer is planning to establish a cutting-edge manufacturing unit to produce 1,80,000 steel doors and windows, along with other products. This initiative requires an investment of Rs 147.64 crore.

Other approved proposals include those from Nezone Tubes Utkal Limited (Rs. 105 crore), B.K. International Private Limited (Rs. 52 crore), and Mamta Fabrics Pvt. Ltd. (Rs. 50 crore).

The State Level Single Window Clearance Authority (SLSWCA) played a crucial role in facilitating the approval process for these projects, streamlining the necessary clearances.
