CM Naveen Patnaik Honours Odia Para-Athletes Pramod Bhagat & Soundarya Kumar for Asian Para Games Success

Bhubaneswar: Pramod Bhagat and Soundarya Kumar, two outstanding para-athletes, were honoured by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik in recognition of their remarkable performances at the Asian Para Games held in Hangzhou, China. Bhagat was awarded a cash prize of Rs 2 crore, while Soundarya received Rs 1.5 crore.

Bhagat, a skilled shuttler, achieved gold in men’s singles and secured bronze medals in both men’s doubles and mixed doubles events. On the other hand, Soundarya Kumar, a chess player, excelled by earning a gold medal in the team competition and a silver in the individual event.

Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik expressed his immense pride in felicitating these exceptional athletes and acknowledged their dedication, talent, and unwavering determination. He emphasized that their triumphs serve as an inspiration to everyone.

Furthermore, Naveen Patnaik assured Bhagat of continued support as he prepares for the upcoming 2024 Paris Olympics. Chairman 5T and Nabin Odisha VK Pandian extended their best wishes to the athletes.
