Over 2,500 Teaching Positions Vacant in Odisha’s Educational Institutions

Bhubaneswar: Odisha’s Higher Education Minister, Atanu Sabyasachi Nayak, revealed that there are currently 2,544 vacant teaching positions in public universities, government colleges, and government-aided colleges within the state. This disclosure came during a session at the State Assembly in response to a query posed by Khandapada MLA Soumya Ranjan Patnaik.

Out of these vacancies, 1,094 teaching posts are unfilled in public universities, 385 in government colleges, and 1,065 in government-aided colleges. To address this issue, the government is taking measures to fill these vacancies. For public universities, the recruitment process will be conducted through the Odisha Public Service Commission, while government-aided colleges will utilize the services of the Odisha Staff Selection Commission for hiring new teaching staff.

These efforts are aimed at enhancing the educational infrastructure and ensuring that students have access to quality education across various institutions in Odisha.
