Odisha To Continue To Sizzle, Some Districts To Experience Light Rain & Thunderstorm Activities: IMD

Bhubaneswar: For the past few days, there has been extreme heat and humidity in several Odisha districts. According to the latest weather bulletin released on Tuesday by the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the maximum (day) temperature in the state won’t change significantly during the next four to five days.

Over the course of the next three to four days, there are a few districts in Odisha where the maximum temperature is highly likely to reach 40 degrees Celsius or more.

“During the next 3–4 days, there will be hot and uncomfortable weather in some districts of Odisha. People are advised to exercise caution when venturing outside, IMD suggested.

However, IMD has also anticipated mild to moderate rain or thunderstorm activities, though no warning has been issued in this regard in some districts of Odisha.

Weather Forecast And Warning

Day 1 (Valid upto 0830 hrs IST of 10.05.2023)

Light to moderate rain or thunderstorm is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada, Nabarangpur, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Ganjam, Gajapati, Nayagarh, Khordha, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, and Balasore.

Yellow Warning: Thunderstorm with lightning is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Malkangiri, Koraput, Keonjhar, and Mayurbhanj.

Day 2 (Valid from 0830 hrs IST of 10.05.2023 to 0830 hrs IST of 11.05.2023)

Light to moderate rain or thunderstorm is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Malkangiri, Koraput, Ganjam, Gajapati, and Mayurbhanj.

Day 3 (Valid from 0830 hrs IST of 11.05.2023 to 0830 hrs IST of 12.05.2023)

Light to moderate rain or thunderstorm is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Gajapati, Ganjam, Puri, Jagatsinghpur, Koraput, and Rayagada.

Day 4 (Valid from 0830 hrs IST of 12.05.2023 to 0830 hrs IST of 13.05.2023)

Light to moderate rain or thunderstorm is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Ganjam, Puri, Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapara, Bhadrak, and Balasore.

Day 5 (Valid from 0830 hrs IST of 13.05.2023 to 0830 hrs IST of 14.05.2023)

Light to moderate rain or thunderstorm is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Coastal Odisha and Mayurbhanj.
