Snake Venom Seizure Case: Crime Branch Begins Probe Into Matter

Bhubaneswar: The Crime Branch (CB) sleuths of Odisha police on Monday started an investigation into the seizure of the snake venom case.

According to sources, around 1.6 litre of snake venom worth Rs 1 crore was seized in Bhubaneswar on March 27, 2021.

In a bid to take stringent action against the illegal racket, a team of the Crime Branch reached the city DFO office and started an investigation into the matter.

Earlier, the forest officials had arrested six persons including a woman in this connection.

The Forest Department handed over the matter to the Crime Branch for further investigation.
