PCB Restores Haris Rauf’s Contract After Pacer Tenders Written Apology

Lahore: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has reinstated Haris Rauf’s central contract after acknowledging a misunderstanding regarding his national team selection.

Rauf’s contract was terminated in February following his refusal to participate in the Test tour of Australia. He cited a heavy workload and his Big Bash League commitments.

PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi announced the reversal of the decision at a press conference. Naqvi explained that Rauf had expressed his unwavering dedication to playing for Pakistan in a written response.

“After receiving his written reply, the board has decided to restore his central contract,” Naqvi said. “Haris clarified that he was always committed to the national team, but there seems to have been a misunderstanding regarding his selection.”

While Rauf’s contractual status is settled, his fitness remains a concern. The fast bowler suffered a shoulder injury during the recently concluded Pakistan Super League (PSL).

“We’re also worried about Haris Rauf’s fitness because of his PSL injury,” Naqvi added. “Proper care and recovery will be crucial moving forward.”
