Former Union Minister Birender Singh Quits BJP, To Join Congress Tomorrow

New Delhi: Former Union Minister Birender Singh resigned from the BJP on Monday, signalling his intention to join the Congress. This significant move follows his son, Brijender Singh’s recent entry into the grand old party, which sparked anticipation of Birender Singh’s shift in allegiance.

Addressing reporters at a press conference in Delhi, Birender Singh confirmed his resignation from the BJP, a party he had been associated with for nearly a decade. He revealed that he had tendered his resignation to party chief J P Nadda. Joining him in this move is his wife, Prem Lata, a former BJP MLA from Haryana.

Birender Singh’s decision marks the end of a political journey that began with his departure from the Congress, where he had served for over four decades before joining the BJP. His son’s transition to the Congress on March 10 only fueled speculations about Birender Singh’s imminent switch.
