Man Kills Sleeping Sister-in-Law, 2-Yr-Old Nephew in Sambalpur District

Sambalpur: A man allegedly killed his sister-in-law and nephew due to a family dispute at Dalkibahal village under Gobindpur police station limits in Odisha’s Sambalpur district on Thursday night.

The deceased were identified as Purnima Ping and her two-year-old son.

The accused, Lochan Ping, entered the house of Purnima, while she and her son were sleeping, and used a sharp weapon to kill them both. After committing the heinous act, Lochan escaped from the spot. Later on he was arrested by the police.

Purnima’s husband was not present at home when she and her son were murdered.

Police are investigating the reason behind the gruesome act of Lochan. Initial investigation hints that a family dispute over property may have led to this incident.
