Aged Woman Murdered in Bhubaneswar, Daughter-in-Law Found Unconscious

Bhubaneswar: Unidentified assailant murdered an elderly woman by slitting open her throat by a sharp weapon in Khadagiri Bari Basti under Bharatpur police station limits in Bhubaneswar on Tuesday night.

Her daughter-in-law was found in an unconscious state and was admitted to a government hospital.

The deceased was identified as Mandapali, from Belgaon in Odisha’s Ganjam district. She was living with her son and daughter-in-law in the Bari Basti area of Khandagiri.

Initial investigation hints that she may have been killed because of some old enmity.

Meanwhile, the police are interrogating the deceased’s sons to ascertain the reason behind the crime.
