Rs 30 Lakh Unaccounted Money Seized from Car in Malkangiri Dist

Malkangiri: During the vehicle checking drive ahead of the elections, Malkangiri district police seized Rs 30 lakh cash from a car that entered Odisha from neighbouring Chhattisgarh.

The car with cash was intercepted near Chalanguda on Malkangiri-Sukma Road on Tuesday evening during routine check of vehicles.

During the search, huge amount of cash was discovered in the car. Neither the driver nor the passenger could provide a satisfactory explanation regarding the source of the cash.

So, the cash was seized by the police and both were detained for interrogation. An investigation is on to determine the origin and purpose of the seized cash.
