Elderly Man Hacked to Death by Mentally Unstable Youth in Jajpur

Jajpur: An elderly man was allegedly hacked to death by a youth armed with a sharp weapon at Jamdhar village under Sadar police station limits of Jajpur on Saturday morning.

The deceased was identified as Kalandi Mallick of Swapneswar village.

Police have nabbed the accused youth, identified as Surendra Behra, who is said to be mentally unstable.

According to sources, the accused attacked and killed Kalandi on the spot.

Receiving information, police rushed to the spot to round up the accused and seized the body for post-mortem. Police are investigating the reason behind the murder.
