Former Planning Member of SDA Arrested for Amassing Disproportionate Assets

Sambalpur: Former Sambalpur Development Authority (SDA) planning member Bandita Mohapatra was arrested by Odisha vigilance on charges of amassing assets disproportionate to her legal sources of income.

Recent vigilance raids proved that she had accumulated properties around 88 per cent more than her income.

The assets unearthed from her possession included a triple-storey building with an area of 5,400 sqft worth approximately Rs 1.34 crore, a flat, seven plots, deposits of over Rs 1.73 crore, cash worth Rs 3.93 lakh, gold jewellery weighing around 172 grams, 1 four-wheeler.

In this connection, Sambalpur Vigilance PS case (No-33, dated 20.12.2023 was registered against the former planning member and her spouse U/s 13(2) r/w 13(1)(b)/12 PC Amendment Act, 2018.
