IND vs AUS, 1st T20I: SKY, Rinku’s Heroics Propel India to Last-Ball Victory Against Australia

Visakhapatnam: In a thrilling T20I encounter between India and Australia in Visakhapatnam, India emerged victorious in a nail-biting finish, securing a last-ball win. Rinku Singh’s six off Sean Abbott proved decisive as India chased down 209 with two wickets in hand, taking a 1-0 lead in the 5-match series.

Chasing a mammoth total, Ruturaj Gaikwad’s early dismissal added pressure, but Yashasvi Jaiswal and Ishan Kishan steadied the innings. Jaiswal contributed 21 runs before departing, while Kishan played a crucial innings, scoring 58 runs. Tilak Varma added 12 runs to the total.

The standout performance, however, came from Suryakumar Yadav, who played a power-packed inning, scoring 80 runs with 9 fours and 4 sixes off just 42 balls. Despite his dismissal, Yadav set the stage for India’s victory.

Opting to field first, India’s decision paid off as Matthew Short fell early. Steve Smith and Josh Inglis then built a strong partnership, with Inglis scoring an impressive 110 runs off just 50 balls. Australia posted a formidable total of 208 runs in 20 overs.

From the bowling perspective, Prasidh Krishna and Ravi Bishnoi claimed one wicket each. Krishna conceded 50 runs in 4 overs, Bishnoi gave away 54 runs in 4 overs, Mukesh Kumar conceded 29 runs, Axar Patel 32 runs, and Arshdeep Singh 41 runs, respectively. Despite the challenging target, India successfully chased down the score, clinching a remarkable victory in the match.
