Martyred CRPF Jawan’s Mother Dies a Week After His Demise

Bhubaneswar: A week after the martyrdom of CRPF jawan Sushant Kumar Khuntia in Maoist attack in Jharkhand, his ailing mother Sundari Khuntia breathed her last at SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack on Friday.

On Independence Day, she had been felicitated at Anandapur of Keonjhar district.

Sundari’s cholecystectomy (removal of gallbladder stones) operation was deferred due to the sudden death of her son. Leaving the hospital she had returned back home to participate in the last rites of her son.

Because of the shock, he health condition deteriorated she was admitted to the Sub Divisional Hospital at Anandpur. Later she was shifted to the SCB Medical College and Hospital as her condition deteriorated.

According to sources, Sundari died due to a cardiac arrest at the SCB Medical College and Hospital.

Khuntia was killed in a Maoist ambush in West Singhbhum district of Jharkhand on August 11. He got married on June 2, 2023, and his wife serves as an ANM worker in the Telkoi area of Keonjhar.
