The accused from Hathras in Uttar Pradesh had allegedly abducted the child on Wednesday.

The mother of the child hailing from Odisha had come to New Delhi station from Indore along with her three children to catch a train to Cuttack. Her youngest child went missing and she approached the local police.

Police could identify the kidnapper from the CCTV footage.

On Friday morning, abductor Vikas Verma was nabbed from the Shri Shakti Express.

Verma is a goldsmith by profession, who has gone bankrupt with heavy debts on his head. He was tempted to take away the youngest child of the woman waiting for her train at the New Delhi railway station.  He first befriended the child by offering him some eatables and then escaped along with the child, taking advantage of the crowd.
