Nandankanan’s Lone African Lioness “Binni” Dies of Old Age

Bhubaneswar: The only lioness of African species named Binni in Nandankanan Zoo of Bhubaneswar, died on Thursday evening because of old-age-related complications.

According to the authorities of the zoo, this lone lioness of African species was 17 years old and it was suffering from several age-related ailments l for the last few weeks.

The lioness Binni was brought to Nandankanan in 2015 from a zoo in Israel’s Tel Aviv under an animal exchange programme. Binni was then eight years old and was brought to the Nandankanan Zoo at present has at least 21 African and Asiatic lions.
