Pathankot Attack Mastermind Shadid Latif Shot Dead in Pakistan

One of India’s most wanted terrorists, Shahid Latif, the mastermind of the Pathankot attack, was gunned down by unidentified assailants in Pakistan’s Sialkot on Wednesday.

The 41-year-old Shahid Latif was a member of the terrorist organisation Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM). He was the key conspirator of the Pathankot attack on January 2, 2016.

Operating from Sialkot, he had sent four JeM terrorists to carry out the Pathankot attack. Latif was also accused in the hijacking of an Indian Airlines plane in 1999.

Latif was arrested in India in November 1994. After serving his jail sentence in India, he was deported to Pakistan in 2010.
