Rs 1 Cr Worth Brown Sugar Seized in Bhubaneswar, 2 Drug Peddlers Nabbed

Bhubaneswar: Brown sugar worth Rs 1 crore was seized by the Special Crime Unit (SCU) of Commissionerate Police (Bhubaneswar-Cuttack) from two drug peddlers arrested from Fuleswari Basti slum in Bhubaneswar on Friday night.

The arrested accused were Pradipta Sahu and Niranjan Pattjoshi of the Delang area in Puri district.

These arrests were the outcome of SCU’s month-long investigation. The SCU team trapped the accused drug peddlers by posing as customers. The accused persons were caught red-handed while they were trying to sell narcotics in Bhubaneswar.

The SCU has so far seized a total of 1,420 grams of brown sugar valued at Rs 1.42 crore, and 230 kg of ganja valued at Rs 23 lakh since its inception on May 10, 2023.
