Two Bike-Borne Youths Crushed to Death by OSRTC Bus in Balangir

Balangir: Two youths travelling on a bike were crushed to death by a speeding bus in Odisha’s Balangir on Wednesday.  The accident occurred near the toll gate on NH-57 on Balangir-Sonepur road.

The bike was from Sambalpur bearing registration number OD 15Y 7983. The identity of the victims had not been ascertained.

The accident-causing bus was an Odisha State Road Transport Corporation (OSRTC) bus travelling from Phulbani to Balangir. The bus hit the bike near Bhadrapalli and ran over the two youths who fell down. Both victims died on the on the spot.

Police reached the spot of the accident and detained the bus driver for questioning. A case has been registered and an investigation is underway.
