Using Morphed Photos Chhattisgarh Man Blackmails Odia Woman, Arrested

Bhubaneswar: A man from Chhattisgarh was arrested by Odisha police on charges of blackmailing a woman from Sonepur district using her morphed photos.

The arrested accused Jogindra Soni (34) of Bagabara in Mahasamund district of Chhattisgarh had also tried to murder the woman, police sources said.

He had befriended the woman through social media. Later he started blackmailing her by threatening to upload her morphed photos on social media.

The accused took Rs 3.78 lakh from the woman and her husband in three phases and also tried to kill her.

Frustrated by the threats of the accused, the victim lodged a complaint in this regard with the police. The accused was tracked down from Titlagarh in Odisha.
