Kolkata Woman Stabs Live-In Partner to Death, Calls Police to Surrender

Kolkata: In a tragic turn of events, a woman in Kolkata reportedly stabbed her live-in partner to death and then informed the police. The incident unfolded on Wednesday, sending shockwaves through the community.

The woman, identified as Sanhati Paul was described as a divorcee with a young son, working as a professional makeup artist. She shared her living space with Sarthak Das, a photographer, in what seemed like a close relationship.

Just hours before the grim discovery, Das had shared a picture on social media featuring himself, Paul, and her son, captioned “Family.” He had also updated his relationship status to “engaged,” hinting at a deeper commitment.

However, beneath the surface, trouble brewed. Both Paul and Das, both in their 30s, reportedly grappled with relationship issues in recent times, hinting at underlying tensions.

The horrific crime came to light when the accused called the police to report the crime and surrender. The cops arrived at the scene to discover Das lying in a pool of blood at Paul’s Dumdum apartment. He had sustained multiple stab wounds, proving fatal.

Rushed to a nearby hospital, Das was declared dead upon arrival. During interrogation, Paul allegedly confessed to the crime, though the motive remains unclear.
