CRPF Officer Martyred, Constable Injured in Chhattisgarh Encounter with Naxals

Raipur: In an anti-Naxal operation on Sunday morning, a Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) official, Sub-Inspector Sudhakar Reddy, lost his life, and Constable Ramu sustained bullet injuries in Sukma district, Chhattisgarh. The encounter occurred in the Jagargunda area as the CRPF’s 165th battalion conducted operations against Naxals while moving from the Bedre camp to Ursangal village.

Ramu, injured during the operation, was swiftly airlifted to a hospital for immediate treatment. Concurrently, the police detained four suspects from a nearby location, prompting a joint search operation involving CRPF’s COBRA unit and local police teams.

Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai expressed condolences and paid tribute to Sub-Inspector Sudhakar Reddy for his sacrifice in the line of duty. In response to the incident, the Chief Minister instructed officers to ensure the proper treatment of the injured constable, Ramu.

The Chhattisgarh Chief Minister’s Office conveyed these details via a post, expressing deep sorrow over the encounter between the CRPF and Maoists in the Jagargunda police station area of Sukma district.
