PM Modi to Observe 11-Day Fast Ahead of Pran-Pratishtha of Ayodhya Ram Temple

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced on Friday that he will observe a special 11-day ritual, known as ‘anushthan,’ leading up to the Pran Pratishtha ceremony of the new idol of Ram Lalla in Ayodhya’s Ram Temple on January 22. In an audio message shared on social media, PM Modi expressed his gratitude for being a witness to this “historic” and “auspicious” occasion.

The Pran Pratishtha ceremony, where the idol of Ram Lalla will be consecrated at the Ram Temple, is scheduled for January 22, with PM Modi set to perform the ceremony. Despite his busy schedule and responsibilities, the Prime Minister emphasized his commitment to follow all rituals and has initiated an 11-day anushthan.

PM Modi, acknowledging the significance of the ceremony, stated, “I am going through this feeling for the first time in my life. I am experiencing a different kind of devotion.” He highlighted the depth and intensity of his emotions, expressing the realization of a dream that several generations have held.

The consecration process involves a detailed and extensive ritual of infusing divine consciousness into the idol. The scriptures prescribe rules, including fasting before the ceremony, which PM Modi intends to rigorously follow.

Initiating the 11-day ritual from Nashik Dham-Panchavati, a sacred land associated with Lord Shri Ram, PM Modi emphasized the need to awaken divine consciousness for the Yagya and worship of God. He sought blessings from the people, considering their divine nature, and expressed his dedication in mind, words, and deeds throughout this holy occasion.
