91 New FM Radio Transmitters to be Inaugurated by PM on Friday

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will launch 91 new FM transmitters in 18 states and two union territories on Friday to improve FM radio connectivity in the border regions and aspirational districts.

Radio services will reach to around two crore citizens who were not connected to the medium so far. They will be inaugurated two days before the transmission of 100th episode of PM Modi’s radio program Mann ki Baat.

The 91 new 100 W FM transmitters are established in 84 districts with a special focus on enhancing coverage in Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha, West Bengal, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Haryana, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Andhra Pradesh, Kerala, Telangana, Chhattisgarh, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Ladakh and Andaman & Nicobar Islands.
