BJP 5,265 Votes ahead After 9 Rounds of Counting in Dhamnagar Bypoll

Dhamnagar: As of 13:30 PM, 9 rounds of vote counting have been completed and BJP’s Suryavanshi Suraj continues to lead the Dhamnagar assembly seat by 5,265 votes, claiming a total of 41,089 votes. The BJD’s Abanti Das follows suit securing 35,824 votes at the end of 9 rounds of counting.

Whereas former BJD rebel Rajendra Das has secured 5,557 votes so far the Congress party’s Harekrushna Sethi has bagged a meek 1,556 votes.

Vote counting for the byelection to the Dhamnagar assembly constituency is underway right now. The counting will be undertaken in as many as 18 rounds on 14 benches.

A heavy tussle was seen between the candidates for the by-elections. This increased the anticipation among the candidates as well as the general public as a clear-cut winner is hard to be thought of.
