Firefighters were able to rescue nine persons. The deceased doctors were Dr Vikas Hazra and his wife Dr Prema Hazra. Some other employees of the hospital were among the victims of this fire accident.

According to sources, a fire broke out on the 2nd floor of the hospital. A short circuit is suspected to be the reason behind this fire accident. In no time the fire spread out to the first floor.
